Retinitis pigmentosa
inherited group of conditions - the sight deteriorates (inheritance is different, with the autosomal recessive and X-linked recessive being worse)
Triad =
- night blindness
- tunnel vision (years after night blindness usually)
- pigmented bony spicule (what the retina looks like) - discs are pale
Associated with:
- abetalipoproteinaemia
- Refsum's disease
- Usher's syndrome
- Bardet-Biedl (Lawrence-Moon-Biedl)
- Kaerns Sayre syndrome
